The study on approaches to development of fisheries communities toward community enterprise: a case study of fisheries communities in Kew Lom dam, Lampang province aimed to study the fishery resource utilization by interviewing 386 samples. The results showed that most samples were male and then were between 41-60 years old. The highest education level was primary level, almost of sample were local people and most of them were not any committee in the community.
As for the strength of the areas, it was found that in the community’s strength was the most unity. In terms of infrastructure, the community has quite a high level. And the strength of leader as high level as the community organization. For the opinion and readiness of people in community towards the establishment of community enterprise were high level. Finally, the factors that affect to readiness of people in community towards the establishment of community enterprise were age, education, occupation, social status and leader. However, lack of knowledge in community enterprise and marketing were communities’ problems, therefore, the approaches to development of fisheries communities toward community enterprise, communities should be earned the supporting in community enterprise knowledge from government.
