The development of encapsulation flavonoid compounds from Kaempferia parviflora Wallich. ex Baker for UV protection products was investigated. Green extraction of flavonoid compounds was developed using ethanol and sonication method. The extracts were founded flavonoid content, phenolic compound and IC50 by DPPH method were obtained 67.70 ?gQE/mg extract, 43.51 ?gGAE/mg extract and 3.84 mg/mL, respectively.
Niosomes containing flavonoid compounds from Kaempferia parviflora Wallich. ex Baker was prepared by reverse phase method using span60 and cholesterol was studied. The suitable formulation was composed of span60 and cholesterol at 1:1 molar ratio. The noisome particle having a average particle size of 3 ?m and the entrapment efficiency was 91-99 %.
The sunscreen formulation with 20 % of niosome containing flavonoid compounds from Kaempferia parviflora Wallich. ex Baker was absorbed the UV at 290-320 nm wavelength range. From the results obtained in the study, we can positively conclude that the sunscreen formulation with niosome will also help in broadening the UV protection ability.
