The objective of this research was to study the suitability of an appropriate scheme for the use of fish residues from the fermented fish production process and fresh snail meat as a feed for snakehead fish in aquaponic recirculation water systems for development into aquaculture. Each experiment was fed formulated diets containing fish residues and fresh snail meat in ratio 0 (T2), 25% (T3) and 50% (T4) while fishmeal was use as a control (T1). The 100 fishes/m2 was the stocking density and the experiment were conducted into 2 experiments using size of snakehead as a criteria. The first experiment is the nursing period of snakehead fish until they reach 3 inches size within 3 months while the second experiment was used the fish from previously experiment until they reach marketable size. The results from first experiment showed that the control obtained the highest weight gain at 22.87 ? 1.57 g. and no significant difference (p>0.05) between other experiment. Similarly with the survival rate of control obtained the highest at 64.58 ?5.17 percent but there are significances different (p <0.05) with others, while no significant different (p>0.05) for feed conversion ratio (FCR) and average daily weight gain (ADG). The result of second experiment showed that the control and 50% fresh snail meat were 109.0?1.14 g and 102.0?1.07 g., respectively and there were no differences while the control obtained the highest survival rate, feed conversion ratio, average daily weight gain with 79.40%, 1.12 and 1.34?1.28 g/fish/day, respectively. The water quality properties were suitable for the culture and growth of snakehead fish and the effects of water quality was not different (p> 0.05). The efficiency of growth of vegetables used in the aquaponic system showed that the height and weight increase of morning glory in the aquaponic system were found to be significantly different (p <0.05) followed T3 showed the highest height and weight compared with the others. The results indicated that the use of other protein sources to replace fishmeal in the feed formulationwas significantly different. Snakehead fish can be used as a development guideline for raising other carnivorous fish species.
