This research aims to evaluate the potential of tourism resources and determining the status
and potentiality of ecotourism in Khun Sathan National Park. Using the Mix Method Approach,
the study was divided into 2 parts. First examining tourist resources in Khun Sathan National Park
with the field survey method by referring to the resource inspection form of the Tourism
Development Institute for Environmental Conservation ( 2545) , where the resources of tourist
attractions are classified into 5 areas: natural resources, cultural resources, event resources, activity
resources and, service resources. The results found that natural resources are the main resources
that attract tourists. But there are still many natural resources that are not yet known because it is
difficult to access. While the surrounding communities contribute cultural resources, event
resources, and service resources which is sufficient to meet the needs of tourists. The second part
was to assess the potential of ecotourism in Khun Sathan National Park. Three groups of
questionnaires were used with 3 groups of stakeholders, namely, 32 Khun Sathan National Park
officials, 48 communities surrounding the Khun Sathan National Park, and 407 tourists. The results
of the study found that the potential of ecotourism in Khun Sathan National Park, from the
perspective of park officials and the community, which is a group of local stakeholders, was
moderate, while from the tourists' point of view which is a group of stakeholders outside the area
was great potential. Suggestions include tourism management that meets the needs of all
stakeholders under the participation process. The development of the area in the form of ecotourism
with an emphasis on recreational activities. Education learns integration, building cooperation, and
support from local academic departments and tourism network construction.
