The new car leasing law announced by the committee on contracts regarding the car leasing business as a business that controls contracts in 2022 will be more beneficial to consumers than before. The researcher is therefore interested in studying the awareness of hire purchase business laws among customers who use car hire purchase loan services with leading banks in Chiang Mai Province. The data was collected from 1) using a questionnaire among 100 customers who used the service and 2) using a group discussion method with 6 people involved in providing car leasing services.
The results of the research found that from a questionnaire survey of 100 customers who used car hire purchase financing services, more than 75 percent of customers knew and understood the law. This is because leading banks have sales sheets and QR codes for customers to scan to listen and see animations that explain the things you should know about making a car leasing contract so that customers can understand before making a contract. But even though there are these things anyway from the research results, it was still found that there are approximately 25 percent of customers who know the law but do not understand it well and customers who do not know the law at all.
Moreover, although more than 75 percent of customers answered that they know and understand the law, the legal language is quite difficult to understand. As a result, the results of the research found that media should be developed to provide knowledge and understanding about car leasing laws in language that can be easily understood. (Than legal language) found that the majority of respondents agreed 99 percent.
The results of the study from a group discussion of 6 people showed different awareness and understanding of the new car leasing law. Those who graduated from law school were able to understand this law more easily than other people and All 6 people participated in the group discussion (including additional comments from customers who responded to the questionnaire). They all had the same opinion that this is because legal language is quite difficult to understand. The letters in the Sales Sheet are very small, making it difficult to read, and some people don't have time to scan the QR Code to see the animated cartoons. Therefore, it is seen that media should be improved and developed to provide knowledge and understanding about car leasing laws. Into language that can be easily understood (than legal language) has a font size that is easy to read concise content beautiful and interesting presentation format. To convey knowledge and understanding to those involved in using the car leasing service to know and more easily understand their legal rights and duties before and after entering into a car leasing contract.
