The objectives of this research were to study the problem of waste from durian peel and its impacts on the local community, and to study the solutions and suggestions regarding to this problems in the Wang Tako Sub-district, Lang Suan District, Chumphon Province. This research was a qualitative research using an in-depth interview method. There were 27 people provided information, including local people, entrepreneurs and government agencies. This research found that the Wang Tako Sub-district Municipality had an insufficient budget to solve the problem of durian peel waste in the area. Moreover, there were no cooperation among local people to solve the problem. As for the impact of durian peel waste on the community from the study, it was found that the impact had many aspects such as the deteriorate communities’ environment, water pollution, air pollution, rotten scent, and became a source of carriers for many diseases. It was directly affected the people in this farming community. In terms of solutions and suggestions, this research found that, in the area of Wang Tako Sub-district, cooperation from all parties was required. People in the community including entrepreneurs and relevant government agencies must work together to find a solution to the problem and to achieve a sustainable way of waste management.
