In this work, an electrochemical assay using a glassy carbon electrode was developed to detect glucose based on coral-like Ni particles and ordered mesoporous carbon. The glucose measurement was carried out in 0.1 M NaOH solution. The enhanced response of glucose at coral-like Ni particles and ordered mesoporous carbon on glassy carbon electrode surface was obtained from electrochemical assay. Amperometric measurements of glucose showed the linear response in the range of 0.0012 – 1.69 (y = 11.505x - 2.0083, R? = 0.999) and 0.04 – 41.86 (y = 87.16x + 4.1814, R? = 0.9972) mM. Limit of detection and limit of quantitation of this method are found to be 0.59 and 1.5 ?M, respectively. Furthermore, this glucose sensor could also be successfully applied to real urine sample analysis with satisfactory results and excellent recoveries (96.58-106.42).
