Growth, Yield and Species Diversity of Teak (Tectona grandis Linn.f.) Plantation Under Different
Age which had silvicultural management method was studied in Khun Mae Khum Mee plantation, Phrae
province aimed to investigated growth and yield of Teak (Tectona grandis Linn.f.) and species diversity of
Teak plantation in different stand age. The permanent plot with size 20?20 m., were set to collect the growth
of Teak (Tectona grandis Linn.f.) data, at 1-19 year-old of Teak, were randomed set up for measuring
growth and yield. Paired sample linear regression analysis was used as statistical comparsion. And plot with
size 50?20 m., were set to collect tree species data, at 5, 10, 15 and 20 year-old of Teak. In addition,
important value index, species diversity was analyzed by using the Shannon-Weiner index and similarity
index between plot plantation under different age.
The results showed that Teak (Tectona grandis Linn.f.), at 1-19 year-old were the maximum
average growth 19.90 cm., 15.16 m and 0.195 m3.stem-1 in diameter at breast height (DBH), total height
(H) and individual stem volume (V) respectively, tends to increase with age of Teak plantation. However,
Statistical analysis found that the relationship between the age of Teak (Tectona grandis Linn.f.) with
diameter at breast height (DBH), total height (H) and individual stem volume (V) were significantly. In
contrast, there was on significantly is diameter at ground level (D0). And the result showed that, Species
Diversity of Teak (Tectona grandis Linn.f.) Plantation there were 49 species 42 genus and 21 families. The
most commonly family found was Fabaceae, following with Rubiaceae, Lamiaceae and Bignoniaceae.
Tectona grandis were the most important value index native tree species, followed by Pterocarpus
macrocarpus, Xylia xylocarpa, and Schleichera oleosa. In addition, were the important value index pioneer
tree species are Albizia odoratissima, Albizia lebbeck and Broussonetia papyrifera. When the species
diversity of Shannon–Weiner index was the highest value of species diversity range from 1.14-3.08 and the
similarity index range from 25.64-71.43 % in Tree, sapling and seedling. Therefore, Silvicultural practices
in Teak plantation can be promote increased growth and yield of Teak (Tectona grandis Linn.f.) was
growing and natural regeneration species diversity of tree species.
