Study on orchid diversity at Baan Pangpao community forest, tambon Khilek, Maetaeng, Chiangmai. The study was conducted in each week from October, 2015 to September, 2016. Sixty-three species of two subfamilies, Orchidoideae and Epidendroideae, were found in the area. Fourteen Orchidoideae, orchid species of tribe Orchideae were found in 4 genera, Brachycorythis (1 species), Habenaria (9 species), Pecteilis (2 species) and Peristylus (2 species). Fourty-nine Epidendroideae, orchid species were found in 8 tribes, Nervileae (1 species of Nervillea), Malaxideae (2 species of Liparis, 1 species of Malaxis and 1 species of Oberonia), Cymbideae (1 species of Bromheadia, 2 species of Cymbidium,5 species of Eulophia, and 3 species of Geodorum), Arethuseae (1 species of Pachystoma and 1 species of Spathoglottis), Coelogyneae (2 species of Coelogyne), Podochileae (2 species of Eria), Dendrobieae (3 species of Bulbophyllum and 8 species of Dendrobium) and Vandeae (3 species of Aerides, 1 species of Chiloschista, 3 species of Cleisostoma, 3 species of Luisia, 1 species of Phalaenopsis, 1 species of Rhynchostylis, 1 species of Smitinandia, 1 species of Staurochilus and 2 species of Vanda).
The number of orchid populations found in each zone had a positive relationship with wild abundance. The highest number of orchids was found in April, the second is August, and found the least number in December.
