The results for the study of growth, flowering, fruiting, yield and quality of 18 lines
of F1- hybrid longan in comparison with E-Daw showed that the growth in terms of canopy width,
plant height and stem diameter did not show any significantly difference among longan lines. Only
14 lines of F1-hybrid flowered in the first time. They were F1-4 (E-Daw 27-1 x Si Chompoo 12),
F1-3 (E-Daw 27-1 x Si Chompoo12), F1-1 (E-Daw 27-1 x Si Chompoo 12), F1-4 (Sri Chompoo7x
Daw KanKheng 8), F1-5 (Daw KanKheng 7 x Si Chompoo 12), F1-1 (Krob Kahti x E-Daw), F1-2
(Krob Kahti x E-Daw), F1-3 (Biaw-khiaw x Daw KanKheng -6), F1-1 (Daw KanKheng-6 x
Si Chompoo-8), F1-5 (Pungthong-9 x Daw KanKheng -7), F1-8 (Pungthong-7 x Daw KanKheng -
7), F1-10 (Pungthong-7 x Daw KanKheng -7), F1-2 (Pungthong-7 x Daw KanKheng-7) F1-2
(Pungthong-5xDaw KanKheng-7). The shortest reproductive stage from seed germination to
flowering was 3 years and 9 months, whereas the other hybrids took more than 4 years. The flower
color of F1 hybrids could be classified into 2 groups: greenish with yellow and creamy with yellow.
The fruit characteristics classified as 2 groups such as round and quite round fruit shape, browngreen
and brown-yellow rind color, smooth and rough rind, and translucent and opaque aril and
tough and quite crunchy of the aril. For the panel test of the acceptability, the results showed that
the most acceptability was the hybrid of (Pungthong 7 x Daw KanKheng 7) F1-10 which had quite
round fruit with rough rind and brown-green color. The fruit size included the width of 24.84 mm.,
length of 26.26 mm. and the height of 24.76 mm. Fruit weight was 9.82 g. The aril was opaque
color with quite crunchy texture. TSS was 19.90 ?Brix. The rind thickness was 0.90 mm., aril
thickness was 3.90 mm. and seed size was 14.23 mm. which most of all should be registered and
developed for new satisfied longan variety in the future.
