This research aimed to investigated basic information in people’ s participation, the
development and extension of people’s participation in community forest management, and an
evaluation of peoples’ participation in community forest management. Focus group discussion and
In-depth interview techniques were used for data collection with 18 samples form Royal Forest
Department officers and head of village. The results shown that, majority of people were in
agricultural section but more in planting and livestock. Mostly, people received information
regarding water management by TV. Results of development and extension of peoples participation

On the other hand, people had moderately low level in monitoring and evaluation. However, people,
village head, and Royal Forest Department Officers participated in Meo Dam construction 2-3 time
in a year. Moreover, community had tradition about watershed forest protection and conservation
called “Khun Nam ghost tradition in May of every year.
The suggestion for sustainability of watershed forest management are as follow:
1) Regarding watershed forest conservation, water resource development by construction of
Meo Dam for watershed treatment and immediately repair when it damage. Moreover, monitor andinvestigate water pollution. And 2) Regarding watershed forest management, government should
play an important role in terms of monthly meeting together with people for problem perceiving
and find the exact solution.
