On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the administrators of the Faculty of Architecture and Environmental Design, the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries Technology and Aquatic Resources, and the project team of the GSB Youth Development for Local Conservation Project 2024 met with the university's leadership to report on the project's outcomes and present plaques and certificates of appreciation to honor the university. The University President, Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, received the awards on behalf of the university and congratulated the departments, staff, and students who contributed to the success, building morale and encouraging the development of quality work in the future.
The two awards presented were:
1. Honorary Award in the category of "Buildings for All" from the Foundation for Universal Design in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and other partners, at the Thailand Friendly Design Expo 2024. This award recognized the Faculty of Architecture and Environmental Design for creating a building that is accessible to all, particularly benefiting the elderly, vulnerable groups, and all users by making it easier to access classrooms and government services.
2. First Prize in the "Good Eating" category at the GSB Youth Development for Local Conservation Project 2024 at the national level. The team "In the Water, There Are Fish; In the Field, There Are Crabs" from the Faculty of Fisheries Technology and Aquatic Resources worked with the Santarai Mud Crab Farming Community Learning Center in Chiang Mai to improve the 100% Authentic Mud Crab Sauce product, extending its shelf life to one year, obtaining FDA certification, and redesigning the packaging to be suitable for modern trade. This effort increased the recognition of the northern Thai delicacy, promoted local income, and improved the quality of life for the community.
The event was attended by the university's administrators and representatives from GSB Bank, Region 8, who also congratulated the awardees at the University Council Meeting Room, 5th floor, Maejo University.
